In this letter I would like to thank all the generous Maltese people who help us through the Mission Fund.

In our work with the poor of Upper Egypt we are involved in health care and education as well as social work with poor families and the elderly.

Every week we organisea health campaign in a remote village.

Several doctors accompany us and patients can consult them for illnesses especially detection of the hepatitis virus B/C, whichis widespread.

There are no medical facilities in these remote villages.

Housebound people with diabetes and hypertension are given personal care.

Besides this, we organise activities for the families we visit, especially by giving them hampers and medicine.

There are families living in dire conditions with just a bare room as their abode.

All the family (usually composed of at least four or five children plus parents) live in one room with no sanitary facilities.
