How long have you been involved with Regus and what are your responsibilities?

I have been working for Regus for over 10 years and I’m responsible for managing and growing our presence in Italy and Malta, since we entered the Maltese market in December 2008.

What solutions do you offer to businesses in Malta?

We offer businesses in Malta an affordable platform for growth and the flexibility to work their way.

Businesses can use Regus flexible workplaces, from offices and workstations to drop-in business lounges. They can also use meeting facilities or our video-communication suite to avoid a long flight to a meeting. We also offer virtual office services, including business address, local telephone answering and mail handling, to set up business without the cost of a physical workspace.

What makes your solutions flexible?

All our products are flexible because they don’t lock businesses into a fixed lease for a fixed period. So for example, with our office space or workstations, businesses can rapidly expand or contract their workplace, depending on headcount.

There’s also our Businessworld programme, which many of our customers in Malta use when they travel overseas on business. For a small fixed monthly cost, they have walk-in access to all our business lounges worldwide, present in 600 cities and in 99 countries. That is another layer of flexibility – the ability to work productively wherever you want.

What recent working trends have transformed businesses and how does Regus address these requirements?

The search for greater efficiency has been a major trend. In research conducted for Regus last year, 45 per cent of businesses said paying for unnecessary fixed office space had been a key factor contributing to corporate distress during the slowdown (Regus Business Confidence Index, Issue 6, April 2012). Also, 39 per cent said that reducing fixed space by using more flexible options was a key initiative for cutting costs without damaging growth prospects.

Regus’s flexible workspace enables businesses to cut their fixed space. Our customers in Malta come to us in search of flexible, affordable office space, which allows them to expand without the fixed overheads of a leased office.

Another trend is mobile working. There are already more than one billion people working on the move and this is predicted to rise.

Most mobile workers have the technology to work on the move, but they often lack a proper place to work or access business support. They need to print, scan documents, send packages, meet in a professional setting, or find somewhere quiet to work. Without this, they may lose deals or waste time.

Regus enables mobile workers to access professional workspace and facilities at 1,500 locations worldwide, including Regus Swatar City Centre in Malta. It allows mobile workers to work more productively.

What elements make your solutions cost-effective for businesses?

Our solutions are cost-effective since you only pay for what you use or need. With conventional offices, a large proportion of the space may sit empty, as unused meeting rooms or spare desks. However, you still pay rent for the space and to heat or cool it. With Regus, you only use the space that you need.

Another important element in our workspaces is that services like reception, security, maintenance and cleaning are all included in the cost.

With our virtual office product, businesses don’t pay for physical workspace. This allows them to set up a business more cheaply and quickly than if they had to use a physical office.

For what kinds of businesses is your Regus Swatar City Centre ideal?

Our Malta centre is popular across diverse sectors, including finance, gaming, pharmaceuticals, banking and IT.

Our solutions are more cost-effective and flexible than traditional office space. Our clients also value our global network because it offers a gateway to other markets across the world. We also have numerous international companies that use our affordable, business-ready workspace as a gateway to Malta. Because Regus Swatar City Centre has become a focal point for business life in Malta, it’s an excellent place to network.

What services and solutions do you offer at Regus Swatar City Centre?

We offer a range of services and solutions for businesses of all sizes.

Physical workspaces include offices and workstations, business lounge, video-communication suite and meeting rooms. We also have virtual office solutions as well as professional support for businesses, which includes facilities like printing, scanning and multilingual reception staff. With all these different aspects, working with us is easy – from our simple one-page contract to the flexibility we offer, we add to your business.
