The Employment and Training Corporation assisted 2,132 young people find a job last year and it projected that it would have helped 28,000 people find employment by 2013, Parliamentary Secretary Clyde Puli said.

Speaking during the opening of a Job Fair, organised by the ETC at Ta’ Qali, Mr Puli said the corporation was investing €27 million in several projects and schemes aimed at those seeking employment, school leavers who lacked work experience and others.

The fair brought together a good number of local companies and recruitment agencies who promoted their different vacancies.

Several government and private vocational educational institutions and training services providers also took part.
