The largest outdoor screen in Malta during the World Cup is to be set up at the Tigulio Car Park in St Julians.

Organiser Philippe Gatt said Massive Promotions had been organising the screening of World Cups and European Football Championships for the past 16 years and it had always been successful in entertaining and giving locals and to be part of matches away from the stadium.

St Julians Mayor Peter Bonello said that the car parking facility would only be closed off to the public for 11 matches.

Car owners would not be allowed to park after 6.30 p.m. but access to the Scotts supermarket for shopping would be allowed.

Organiser Edward Mifsud another said the Tigulio Fanzone would be the only outdoor giant screen in Malta projecting the games on a fully HD digital projector.

The games at the Tigulio Football Fanzone include the Italy, England and Germany games from the preliminary round, the second round, the quarter-finals, the semi-finals and the final.

The first match to be screened will be England - USA on June 12.
