A woman from Valletta has been jailed two years and fined €500 after she pleaded guilty to trafficking cocaine in Valletta within 100 metres from a school, club, or place attended by young people.

Judith Bakoush, 21, was also charged with possession of the drug in amounts which denoted it was not for her personal use, being a relapser, breaching three suspended sentences and a probation order.

In submissions on plea bargaining, prosecutors Inspector Jesmond J. Borg and Inspector Pierre Micallef Grimaud and defence lawyers Franco Debono and Marion Camilleri agreed on the punishment, which is the minimum at law.
