A woman who allegedly sent an SMS message to a police superintendent claiming that a bomb had been placed at PL headquarters was taken to court today and remanded in custody.
Jacqueline Calleja, 44, who lives a few doors down from PL headquarters in Hamrun, was accused of having sent a text message to Police Superintendent Carmelo Magri on Sunday evening, telling him that there was a bomb at PL headquarters and the building and neighbouring houses would be blown up.
She was also accused of having, last January 17, sent a text message to Emanuel Rocco, a security official at party headquarters, threatening his life and that of his family.
She allegedly also sent messages to harass eight people linked to Labour headquarters, including MP Jose' Herrera and candidate Joe Cilia.
She was also accused of filing a false report.
The woman pleaded not guilty and was kept in remand.
