A 51-year-old woman from Mellieha was this evening found dead at the foot of a cliff in Manikata where she had gone long-line fishing.

The woman had been reported missing by her family after she failed to return home. A search was conducted on land by the Civil Protection Department and the Police and at sea by a rescue launch.

Since the body could not be easily reached, a team had to be deployed to the site by AFM helicopter.
