A 33-year-old German woman was seriously injured on Thursday morning when she fell down a shaft in a house in Xemxija, the police said.

The accident happened in Triq Piscopo Macedonia at about 9.30am.

The woman had been on the roof at the time. 

She has been hospitalised.
