An elderly woman has died after being hit by a truck in Kalkara.

The accident happened at 10 am in Triq Rinella as the truck was emerging from Triq is-Salvatur.

The 69-year-old pedestrian, who was from Kalkara, died on the spot.

The truck was being driven by a 37-year-old man from Cospicua. The police are investigating.
