A woman was critically injured this afternoon when she was hit by a car in Triq it-Trunciera, St Paul’s Bay, the police said.

The 37-year-old woman, who is from the Ukraine but resident in Malta, was hit by a car driven by a 35-year-old man from St Paul’s Bay.

She was hospitalized and for some time was in danger of dying, but her condition has since improved.

Magistrate Doreen Clarke is heading an inquiry.

In a separate incident, a 47-year-old motorcyclist from Zejtun suffered fractures when his motorcycle was involved in collision with a truck driven by a 59-year-old man, also from Zejtun.

The crash happened in Aldo Moro Street, Marsa, as the two were driving in the same direction.

In yet another incident, a Serbian man was hospitalised this afternoon after being hit by a car in Triq il-Qaliet, Marsascala.

The car was being driven by a 31-year-old woman from Rabat.
