A Canadian woman was critically injured in a three car collision in Triq l-Infetti, just outside Rabat

The police said that according to preliminary investigations, a Chevrolet driven by a 67 man, who was accompanied by a 63-year-old woman, both Canadian, crashed into a BMW that was driven by a 26-year-old man from San Gwann who was accompanied by a 25-year-old woman from Sliema.

A Vitz driven by a 55-year-old from San Gwann accompanied by a 60-year-old man and a four-year-old boy, then crashed into the other vehicles.

All those involved were taken to hospital, where the Canadian woman was found to be critically injured, while the Canadian man suffered fractures.

The boy has been kept in hospital for observation.

A magisterial inquiry is under way.
