A woman this morning pleaded guilty to stealing a BOV cashlink card and using it to buy €1151.77 (Lm494.32) worth of items.

Francielle Ellul, from Paola pleaded guilty to stealing the debit card from a woman at Mater Dei hospital on March 27. Magistrate Antonio Grixti granted Ms Ellul bail against a personal guarantee of €500 (Lm214.59) until sentencing on Monday. The court heard Ms Ellul declare that she will make good any expenses that the woman had incurred.

Police Inspectors Edmond Cushcieri and Robert Vella prosecuted.

Lawyer Anthony Cutajar appeared as legal aid to Ms Ellul.
