A woman who allegedly escaped police custody while under arrest yesterday afternoon, was granted bail by a court today.

Josephine Grixti, 45, of Valletta, was accused of having escaped from Valletta police station where she was under arrest yesterday afternoon.

She was also accused of swearing in public, ignoring police orders, breaking the conditions of conditional release and breaking the conditions of a suspended sentence. She had previously been convicted of loitering for purposes of prostitution.

The woman pleaded not guilty and was granted bail against a personal guarantee of €1,500.
