A woman was found dead in a Gozo valley yesterday afternoon, the police said.

They said they were informed of the discovery at about 1.15pm. The body was found in a valley in the limits of Victoria. The police said details of the case, including what could have led to the woman’s death, were still being investigated. Her identity had not yet been confirmed at the time of writing.

Sources said the deceased was a 71-year-old British woman who had been reported missing three days ago, adding that although the cause of death had yet to established foul play was ruled out.
