A young woman went home early from work to find her mother dead on the floor after she had been electrocuted.

Maria Regina Glass, 51, was found at about 11.30 a.m. by her daughter who went home in Swieqi because she was feeling unwell.

The police are still not sure about how the woman died but she is believed to have been electrocuted when she switched on a small electric fan placed next to a treadmill she often used.

The mother of three was a widow, her husband having passed away eight years ago.

Her youngest daughter found her on the floor with her head resting on the treadmill and her hand stuck to a fan.

Duty Magistrate Edwina Grima appointed several experts to help her in the inquiry.
