As part of Halloween festivities, visitors to a London tourist attraction are given a tongue-in-cheek reminder of the methods used to detect witches in the 17th Century.

The 'Scare Witch Trials' at The London Dungeon challenges the public to sit on human-sized scales and be weighed against an over-sized Bible.

If they are lighter than the Bible they are declared guilty of witchcraft.

An actor playing the part of English witch-hunter Matthew Hopkins took great relish in declaring a passing traffic warden to be a witch.
