Winter Moods has made it a point to rope in "the biggest players" in the business to ensure that their concert at Valletta Waterfront on Wednesday will be one "that goes down in history".

"Tickets for the concert are selling fast and feedback about our concert has been very encouraging," said Ivan Grech, frontman of Winter Moods. "We have been working on this concert for the past month and we have been dreaming about it all our lives."

Organised by NnG promotions, who have been involved with many of the major international artistes who performed in Malta, a spokesman for the promoters said the show will sport only the best in stage, sound, set up and lighting, which will be provided by Nexos.

The concert also has the full support of Vodafone, which has been behind the band for a number of years.

The concert will be filmed by Where's Everybody and director Mark Vassallo confirmed that on the night all resources will be made available for the band to film the concert professionally.

"We will have no fewer than nine cameras on site for the concert as well as our outside broadcasting unit and a full crew to ensure a top notch production," Mr Vassallo said.

"We are happy to team up with Winter Moods on their big night and we look forward to working with them on an event that, I am confident, will be a huge success."

Winter Moods have just released a new track for a radio play, Hang On To Your Smile. The video of the song will be filmed on the night of the concert.

"Hang On To Your Smile is the sixth single we are releasing from our most recent album Ordinary Men. It is an upbeat song just right for summer," Mr Grech explained.

"The concert will be the perfect occasion to shoot a video for this song with Valletta Waterfront, the Grand Harbour and our home town Senglea providing the backdrop."

Ordinary Men, the band's fourth CD album, has proved to be one of its best so far.

The consistent string of hits from this CD include Lonely Vegas, Walk On By, Moonshine, Crazy Moon and Marigold, which is possibly the band's biggest hit to date.

Preparations for the event are well underway. A lot of work on the organisation and logistics has already been put into the concert by NnG Promotions together with Winter Moods' management. The band has been involved in all aspects of the event.

On the night, besides the crew involved in the filming, lighting and sound, the band will have its full back-up crew plus backline and technical assistance from Band Aid Music.

On stage alongside the band members one can expect to see two charming ladies: Beverly Cutajar, Winter Moods' lovely backing vocalist, and song-writer Fiona Cauchi, who will be joining the entourage especially for the night.

Tickets for Winter Moods' concert are available from Agenda Bookshop, Exotique, Vodafone and online at www.nngpromotions.com. Vodafone customers who purchase a ticket at €10 from Vodafone retail outlets and exclusive dealers get another one free.

The concert is supported by Vodafone Malta Limited, MSC Crociere, Hamilton Travel, Coca Cola, MTA, Kia, Heineken, Jack Daniels and HSBC.
