The northeasterly winds which roared last night left substantial damage in Marsascala with boats ending up ashore, some of them in pieces.

A reader said that the road going uphill had to be closed temporarily to traffic and the place is this morning being cleaned up.

In a comment, Joseph Stafrace said the wooden remains in the picture are of the MFV Golden Scepter, which was anchored in the middle of the bay.
