The Kappara flyover project “may” receive EU funding according to a billboard put up in Reggie Miller Street, Gżira.

Such billboards are a legal requirement for all EU funded projects, though they usually carry a bit more certainty about the outcome of the funding.

A spokeswoman for the parliamentary secretary for EU funds confirmed that Malta has applied for funding and a decision was expected to be given in the first half of this year. The government has signed a €22.4 million contract with the Spanish joint venture SJ Kappara K.V. for the construction of the flyover.
