A collective exhibition showcasing paintings, drawings, ceramics, digital art and photography by 13 artists has opened at the Radisson SAS Baypoint Resort, St Julians.

For some, such as Marcel Gafà, this is the first time he's exhibiting his work, while ceramist Godfrey Xuereb is a retired teacher who spends his free time moulding and creating ceramics.

Angele Galea is also a newcomer to the scene, having just started exhibiting her work over the past months.

However, her paintings and stylised portraits betray her versatility.

On the other hand, Cedric Galea Pirotta has a background in engineering and graphic art, elements which are manifest in his highly realistic pen and ink drawing.

The exhibition was inaugurated last week by Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi, who described the collective show as the product of dedication, perseverance and study.

He took the opportunity to thank the private sector, while encouraging companies to help society's cultural development through their corporate cultural responsibilities.

The other artists taking part in The Radisson Arts Expression include: Gabriella Azzopardi, Jeanine Cauchi, Mikela Smith La Rosa, Nadine Debattista Briffa, Ray Piscopo, Christine Pirotta, Gege Gatt, Kris Micallef and Matthew Grima Connell.

The exhibition runs until Sunday. It is being supported by the Radisson, Yellow Pages (Malta) Ltd, Kasco Ltd, XFM 100.2, and Marsovin.
