Two US  Navy Seal commandos are making rival claims as to who actually shot al Qaeda leader, Osama bin Laden.

According to a story published in the Washington Post, former SEAL Rob O'Neill says he was the person who killed bin Laden during a raid in his house in Abbottabad two years ago.

But O'Neill's story has been called into question. An annoymous source close to another former SEAL says the fatal shot was fired by one of two other men who entered the room before O'Neill.

O'Neill acknowledged in the Post article that shots were also fired by other SEALS during the raid.

Another former SEAL, Matt Bissonnette, wrote a book in 2012 discussing the raid and shooting entitled "No Easy Day". Bissonnette never identified the person who killed bin Laden in his book.
