The way certain people act when the subject is money, money, money and more money raises eyebrows.

Owners and organisers of disco parties feel they have to satisfy their patrons' enjoyment of an evening out if this is accompanied by loud music until the early hours of the morning.

They do not care about those, who incidentally are not small in number, who are simply not interested in loud music that reverberates all night long. They do not care about residents in old people's homes; not even about those who may have babies and small children who want to sleep but cannot, thanks to their loud music.

They don't care either about those who have to wake up early the following morning to face another working day.

It has been said that complaints to local councils and police stations have been made from residents of Rabat, Dingli, Mtarfa, Siġġiewi, Żebbuġ, Attard, Safi and Mosta among others. The list is long. Yet, the loud music continues as if all complaints are falling on deaf ears. Being deprived of a legitimate good night's sleep results in frustration.

Acknowledging the fact that this disturbance of public peace and quiet continues especially during weekends, it seems that there is the blessing of the authorities. Such that no one would be blamed if the conclusion is that might is right and that those who complain are being treated as second-class citizens.
