A performance by the UK National Theatre of Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of King Richard II at the Almeida Theatre in London will be broadcast at St James Cavalier Cinema, Valletta, tomorrow at 7.30pm.

The King of England, Richard II, played by Simon Russell Beale, is irresponsible, foolish and vain. His weak leadership sends his kingdom into disarray and his court into uproar. Seeing no other option but to seize power, the ambitious Bolingbroke challenges the throne and the king’s divine right to rule. The production is directed by Joe Hill-Gibbins.

The National Theatre performance of The Tragedy of King Richard II will be screened at St James Cavalier Cinema, Castille Place, Valletta, tomorrow at 7.30pm. The 115-minute performance is certified 12A. There will be an encore screening on February 17, at 6pm. For tickets, visit www.kreattivita.org.
