I refer to the letter by Julian Borg (September 18).

Mr Borg described the issues I raised and my complaints as too "harsh". He also praises the St Julians local council for the works that have been carried out in the locality and the support he received in organising an event during the village feast.

Mr Borg ought to be very lucky and I am happy for him that he was treated by the local council as a "true Ġiljaniż".

In my numerous letters to The Times I never disputed or spoke against the embellishment of our village, particularly the paving of St Elias Street, St Julians. I was only irked and frustrated that I was ignored on several occasions by the mayor and the local council. There was lack of communication and very poor coordination about the various works in our locality. As a citizen and as a Ġiljaniż by birth, I expected to be heard and acknowledged, particularly when I was addressing an issue of common interest to the residents of St Julians.

My comments towards the St Julians council and the mayor were far from harsh and were very modest in the circumstances.
