• Consumers have specific rights when buying a product or service from anywhere in the EU.
• European consumers have the right to a minimum two-year guarantee which entitles them to having defective goods repaired or replaced for free.
• When a shop sells a new product with no guarantee, this means that the consumer does not have additional protection. The two-year legal guarantee still applies.
• When promoting/selling products, traders must give consumers with correct information.
• EU consumers have the right to send online purchases back within two weeks.
• European Consumer Centres can assist consumers in resolving cross border disputes.
