• Legally online sellers are obliged to provide consumers with a detailed description of the main characteristics of the product or service offered for sale.
• Detailed contact information of the online seller, including physical address, telephone number and e-mail, must be provided to consumers before the sale is concluded.
• Before giving their credit card details, consumers must ensure that the website through which they are processing the payment is secure.
• After making online payments, consumers should always check their credit card transactions to ensure that the correct amount has been deducted.
• Online sellers must provide consumers with information about the right of withdrawal when applicable.
• When buying, online consumers have 14 days, during which they can withdraw from the sales contract without penalty and without giving any reason.
• When sending products back, consumers may be requested to pay for the shipping costs.
• The two-year legal protection also applies to goods bought online from sellers operating within an EU Member State.
