Australia's former world champion Jack Brabham is tipping countryman Mark Webber to win this season's Formula One driver's title.

Brabham, who won the championship in 1959, 1960 and 1966, said Webber could provide Australia with its first world champion since Alan Jones in 1980. Webber is currently second in the standings, 18.5 points behind Brawn driver Jenson Button.

"I certainly believe that Mark Webber can go all the way and win the world championship -- providing the car holds up," Brabham told the Australian Associated Press today.

"It's fantastic to see Webber up there, he's doing a great job."
