Our last-gasp 4-3 victory in the Manchester derby last Sunday was incredible. The game had everything you could want from a football match. Sometimes the games that are built-up prior to the occasion fail to deliver, but this one was everything and more.

We deserved the victory and could have scored more goals, but our mistakes made City confident that they were always in the game. Craig Bellamy also scored a great goal.

The victory, in effect, only gives us three points and local bragging rights for our fans for a few weeks, but the most important thing is momentum and not falling behind Chelsea. The victory means a lot at the time, but is forgotten about pretty quickly afterwards to focus on the next game.

There has been some controversy about the amount of injury time that was played before we scored the winner. My assessment is that there was one team in added time looking to the fourth official to blow the final whistle rather than trying to win, and the other team focused on winning. The rest is irrelevant. Referees don't add time on to give a team a chance to win. It's not 'last goal wins'. The complaints are ridiculous, as is questioning the integrity of the official.

The winner was scored by Michael Owen, who some people say is past his best. In football it doesn't take a lot to be written off. In that one moment, Owen showed what quality he has. The quality is mixed with a great goal scoring mentality and nerves of steel.

He has a great chance to be in the England squad as there aren't many about that can score goals like him. The United fans always take to their own kind, and they will certainly see Owen as one of their own after Sunday.

While Owen basked in the glory, former Old Trafford favourite Carlos Tevez said he was disappointed to be booed by our fans. I think fans will deal with players the way they see fit and nothing can change that. He joined our local rivals, and warm welcomes are not forthcoming in that situation, whoever you are.

Despite our win, City have a lot of good players, particularly in forward areas, and this makes them a threat. Whether or not they break into the top three is too early in the season to tell, but they will be a lot higher than last season and looking to push for a top four place.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are looking strong and also have good experience in their squad. It is too early to say which is the team to beat, but for the past three years they have been the major challengers along with us. I feel Liverpool can be added to the teams that are strong, with experience to last the course, and this s eason the title will be extremely tough to win.

And in response to a question from the editor, no, my run down the touchline after our late winner was not my fastest ever sprint - I was warming down!

Over to you

Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes have proved time and time again what they are capable of. Anderson seems to be a decent replacement for Scholes as he plays the ball forward fast, but who do you think will be Giggs' replacement... assuming he will ever retire?!
Samuel Farrugia

The replacement of Giggs and Scholes like-for-like cannot happen. They are two world-class players with a love for the club and level of performance that is brilliantly high.

The players that play when they are absent have a different style and way about them that can still give the team success.

Giggsy is a freak of nature and someone who commands huge respect around the world. Scholesy is admired also and is one of best players I have ever seen. However, we have seen great players replaced in different ways over the past 20 years and the manager will do this again one day. But not quite yet - they are too good.
