The long-running animation comedy The Simpsons is known for its satirical take on current events and pop culture. Now, the show has weighed in on the US presidential race in its new episode.

In the scene, Marge has trouble deciding which candidate to vote for and as Homer opens the TV, a commercial comes on. The ad, which says “It’s 3am and the phone’s ringing in the White House, who do you want to answer that call?” is a reference to Hillary Clinton’s similar campaign commercial from the 2008 race.

The ad shows how the two candidates would handle a crisis, and reveals the secret behind Donald Trump’s characteristic hair-do.

After watching the ad, which was “paid for by Americans who are really starting to miss Obama”, Marge decided to cast her vote for Clinton. With Homer still a bit unsure about his vote, Marge says she questions whether she can ever be with him again if he were to vote for Trump.

“And that’s how I became a Democrat,” Homer announces soon after.

The Simpsons first aired in the US in 1989 and is currently on season 27.
