John Gulia and George Sammut received copies of letters about the Interlotto Commission and sent them to me. Mr Sammut also sent me this letter:

'I received the enclosed scam today. It looks like a well-planned scam with all the semblances of genuity. You may wish to feature it in your page and warn other possible recipients.' (Mr Sammut)

Although, at this stage, most people are aware of these scams, it is still worth warning consumers for the benefit of the minority who might fall for it. While bearing in mind the importance of this issue, I am featuring some excerpts from the letters sent to Mr Gulia and Mr Sammut:

'We are so pleased to inform you of the release of the El Gordo de Navidad Award Programme ...Among the 180,000 playing for 180 full tickets in second series, from a pool of €180 million in cash, your ticket number 55469 with serial number 0025 consequently won a prize in the second category. However, your number has been approved for a lump sum payout of €975,810 in cash, which was credited to file reference no: GF0022-0034-1188 and batch no: GF0022-0034-1188 and batch no:GF08/2008FT. Congratulations!!!!'
