A new video shows how the shattered Azure Window is fast turning into a divers' paradise, despite the warning to steer away for the time being.

The three-minute clip shot uploaded by Joseph Caruana shows wonderful new features have formed underwater from the remains, including several short passageways that divers call "swim-throughs".

"This short video clip gives a quick overview of some of the beauty that has emerged underwater," Mr Caruana said.

But mariners, scuba divers and bathers have been advised to steer clear of the site after last week's dramatic collapse of Gozo's most known landmark.

The authorities yesterday issued a notice advising the public to keep a safe distance from the area to ensure safety and allow the necessary surveys and inspections to be carried out to mitigate concerns over the conservation of the rock formation's underwater remains.
