Saturday's choice is between Malta and Joseph Muscat, Nationalist Party leader Simon Busuttil said this evening.

Addressing a mass meeting in Victoria, Dr Busuttil appealed to the crowd to choose Malta and said “we are here to spread a message of hope... we hope that the Maltese and Gozitans write a new page in the country’s history and embark on a different route.”

Dr Busuttil asked people not to allow themselves to be afraid because of the fear campaign that was underway.

After Saturday, he said, a new Forza Nazzjonali government would hit the ground running. It had a programme drawn up specifically for Gozo, one the party was determined to implement.

Among others, a Forza Nazzjonali government would give the Gozo hospital back to Gozitans and build the tunnel connecting between Malta and Gozo.

He appealed to hurt Nationalists to answer to the country’s call and vote for the country’s future. He told Gozitan and other Labourites that he understood their dilemma - one of loyalty to the country and their party. Forza Nazzjonali's programme, he said, was theirs too, he said.

“We are determined more than ever before. And our determination is coming from the strength you have given us... On Monday we will hit the ground running,” Dr Busuttil said.

The mass meeting was also addressed by PD leader Marlene Farrugia and PN deputy leaders Beppe Fenech Adami and Mario de Marco.
