Music from four different festivals will drift through the summer air in the coming months, as Malta hosts events focused on jazz, world music, arts and the traditional għana.

The first of the four will take place in May, when world musicians will take the stage at Fort St Elmo as part of the Malta World Music Festival.

June will see traditional Maltese folk musicians and singers joined by bands from other Mediterranean countries at Għanafest, to be held at Floriana's Argotti Gardens.

Legendary musician Chick Corea will headline the Malta Jazz Festival in July, while the world-famous Royal Concergebouw Orchestra will play an undoubtedly packed Teatru Manoel earlier that month, as part of the Malta International Arts Festival.

Festivals Malta director Annabelle Stivala spoke proudly of the four upcoming events.

“The Festivals Malta vision is to nurture creativity, professionalism, participation and cultural education in festivals of the performing arts. We are excited to be launching these four festivals that will start the process of bringing to fruition these important goals," she said.
