Dutch and Maltese forensic experts were this morning continuing to comb the site at Bidnija where a powerful bomb blew up blogger Daphne Caruana Galizia's car on Monday afternoon, killing her instantly.

It is understood that the body was removed last night.

The car was hurled into a field with the force of the blast, and pieces were scattered over a wide area. Semtex military explosive is believed to have been used.

The investigators are trying to establish the nature of the bomb, where it was placed, how it was set off and whether the fragments have clues of who was involved.

FBI investigators are also involved in the operation.

Times of Malta reported this morning that officers from Scotland Yard have also arrived to assist.

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said yesterday that several countries had offered to help, but it was important that investigators were able to work as one team and there were not 'too many cooks'.
