Karist is an ageing, delusional man intent on becoming Malta’s next Prime Minister.

With the nation pushing the button on his mania, his inner demons erupt, violently tearing into Karist and his family.

Sounds familiar with the Maltese political arena?

Limestone Cowboy will premiere on April 13 and will be starting its theatre run at the Eden Century cinemas from April 19.

To his mind Karist is the Limestone Cowboy, the heroic protagonist from
a tale woven and told by his late father. To his mind he’s the quintessential
hero and saviour from the American Wild West. But in everyone else’s mind in Malta, Karist is unwell, a delusional village imbecile.

The country watches in awe, applaud and ridicule as Karist burns brilliantly
while his son despairs.

Directed by Abigail Mallia, and written by Carlos Debattista and Jon Mallia, Limestone Cowboy features Paul Portelli in the lead role.
