Resources Minister George Pullicino told Parliament that waste gathered from bring-in sites between January and October consisted of 1,532 tonnes paper, 677 tonnes plastic, 224 tonnes metal and 950 tonnes glass. Answering a question by Labour MP Carmelo Abela, Mr Pullicino said that this waste is separated by hand at WasteServ to avoid contamination and is then sold.
