The Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority warned today that a number of motorcycle helmets pose a serious risk to users.

The helmets, termed ‘half helmets’ do not conform to the applicable European legislation and do not offer adequate protection to the ears and sides of the head.

The authority urged owners of such helmets to return them to the place of purchase. Economic operators who have placed these products on the market have been ordered to recall them.
