The Environmental Health Directorate has warned food businesses  and deliverymen that is is carrying out inspections  to ensure that foodstuffs such as bread and milk are not left on shops' doorsteps.Attention is also given to the storage, transportation temperature and hygienic conditions of foodstuffs such as milk products, meat and other food requiring a temperature-controlled environment.

Any food that is found under unsuitable hygienic conditions is immediately sealed and cannot be sold.

The public is being encouraged to report even anonymously any establishment that disregards these basic rules by calling on 21337333 between 7:30am and 2:30pm or by sending an email on complaints.ph@gov.mt
