An insecticide used for agricultural and general purposes has been found to contain DDT as an active substance, the Malta Standards Authority said.

It said that the use of DDT has been banned within the European Union and many other countries since 1970s under the Stockholm Convention due to its serious threat to human health and the environment.

Anyone in possession of such products should contact the MSA on 2395 2000.
