A Hungarian man and his son, who are wanted in their country for seriously injuring someone during a fight between families, appeared in court in malta this morning on the strength of a European Arrest warrant.

The Maltese courts were asked to extradite Laszlo Balogh, 52, and his 26-year-old son, also called Laszlo, to Hungary.

The Hungarian courts in Dabas, had issued the warrant on September 17 last year, for the arrest of the two men who were arrested in Malta on Monday afternoon in St Paul's Bay - where they live.

Police Inspector Mario Cuschieri, prosecuting, asked the Maltese courts to send them back to Hungary to face the charges.
