Wales veterans Darren Morgan and Philip Williams confirmed their dominance in the European Championships when they successfully defended their title with a comfortable 7-0 win over Malta 2 duo Tony Mifsud and Ivan Rizzo in the final, played at the Dolmen Hotel on Thursday.
Morgan, a former professional player on the snooker tour, hit runs of 45 and 50 while Williams compiled breaks of 65 and 72 as the Welsh pair took the opening seven frames to secure an easy win.
Morgan and Williams's triumph in the O-40 category completed a double for the Welsh contingent in the team competitions after Andrew Pagett, Jamie Jones and Rhydian Richards, who formed Wales 2, captured the men's championships title after beating Scotland's second team 10-6.
Pagett, Jones and Richards, who had eliminated Alex Borg, Simon Zammit and Duncan Bezzina in the quarter-finals, reached the final after beating their fellow Welsh countrymen and defending champions Lee Walker, Elfed Evans and Peter Roscoe 10-8 in the semi-finals.
German duo Dian Stateczny and Anne-Katrin Hirsch won the women's title after defeating France's Sandrine Vlamyck and Fabienne Martin 5-1 in the final.
Jak Jones, of Wales, is the new U-19 champion after winning 6-4 against Scotland's Anthony McGill.
