The process of printing, laminating, cutting and checking the 190,000 voting documents for next month's local council elections in 34 localities, not including Sliema, comes to an end today. The process lasted four days.

Any documents found damaged will be reprinted under the watchful eyes of political party representatives, George Saliba, for the Electoral Commission said.

The President's writ for the elections, on March 10, will be published tomorrow.

The 190,000 documents will tomorrow be handed to the police for delivery to eligible voters. Any undelivered documents will then be returned to the Commission, which will publish a list of the undelivered documents in the Government Gazette. The documents will then be returned to police stations or local councils for collection by individuals.

Representatives of the Commission will, in the meantime, visit schools where people will be voting to establish the polling stations and prepare the ballot boxes.
