Live music venues willing to support the thriving Maltese underground network of punk, metal and alternative bands have become something of a rarity, so the arrival of an all-new venue with a broad musical vision is more than welcome.
Dedicated to the Maltese music scene, Voice of a Generation (V-Gen) is a much-needed shot in the arm to bands and artists from all genres seeking a place to perform live, and besides having a permanent stage, the venue also has an ideal sound system for playing live and loud.
Located in Ball Street, Paceville, V-Gen will be opening its doors this coming weekend with a warm-up party on Friday featuring rock DJs Lito and Mike Bugeja.
Saturday will see the venue stage its first live event – a special live double-bill featuring top punk band BNI alongside one of Malta’s most dedicated metal acts, Loathe.
The two bands’ combined power is a sure-fire guarantee that the night will be brimming with punk and metal mayhem and enough space to mosh too, and just to make it that little bit more special, entrance is free.
Bands interested in performing at V-Gen should send an e-mail to v-gen@reciprocalrecords.com.
