China's state television has released a surveillance video showing dozens of people falling into the water after a footbridge collapsed in east China.

The accident happened at around 10:10 a.m. yesterday at a scenic spot in Lushan Mountain in eastern China's Jiangxi Province, state television CCTV reported.

Park employees raced to the rescue after visitors fell into the two-metre-deep water, CCTV said.

More than 10 injured visitors were sent to a local hospital, CCTV quoted local authorities as saying.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation, it added.
