Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna is holding its annual open day on Sunday, culminating with the firing of the 100-ton gun at Fort Rinella in Kalkara.

This year's event is titled 'Victorian Garrison Day' and will be held between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Along with the annual firing of the largest muzzle loading gun in the world, the event will feature a number of activities for the family, all themed in Victorian style, to give an entertaining representation of this historic period

These include regular film shows and guided tours around the fort, live displays in military signaling, musketry and cavalry drills as well as special hands-on activities for children, with sword fighting, musketry firing, native Indian archery and pony rides.

The curator of the Royal Marines Museum in the UK, Ian Maine, will also be holding a public discussion on different artillery.
