The Victoria Scout Group had a special meeting with President George Abela after the annual Scout and Guide parade held in Valletta last Sunday.

Following activities held by various scout groups in aid of the L-Istrina campaign last December, a special committee set up by the Scout Association of Malta had chosen the Victoria Scout Group as the President's Group for 2010.

The President welcomed the group at the Palace in Valletta and congratulated the Group Scout leader Lorrie Saliba and the members of the group for the honour bestowed on them earlier this year.

Dr Abela presented a memento - a silver plaque engraved with the President's signature - to the group.

The group was accompanied by chief scout Kenneth De Martino, chief commissioner Leslie Bonnici and the honorary secretary of the association Robert Gonzi.
