A youth section within Victoria council was recently set up. Made up of members aged between 16 and 18, the group held a brainstorming session led by mayor Samuel Azzopardi. The youth council discussed various issues, including the need of setting up a youth centre in Victoria.

The formation of the group forms part of a national drive proposed by the Parliamentary Secretariat for Youth and Sports.

The meeting was also attended by Daniel James Cassar, assistant head of Sir M.A. Refalo Centre for Further Studies, who helped the Victoria council find people interested in the project.
