German world champion Sebastian Vettel will start from pole for the fifth time in six races after posting the fastest time in qualifying for Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix this afternoon.

McLaren's Jenson Button will start alongside Vettel on the grid, while Vettel's Red Bull team-mate Mark Webber lines up in third place.

The final qualifying session had to be halted for over half an hour after Mexico's Sergio Perez crashed his Sauber in spectacular fashion.

The 21-year-old was taken to the medical centre, where he was said by his team to be conscious.
