Sebastian Vettel insisted today that he won't allow himself to be distracted by the high-profile return of German compatriot - and friend - Michael Schumacher to Formula One.

"I get on well with Michael and it is fantastic that he is back," said Vettel, runner-up to Jenson Button last year.

"But I am more concentrated on what I can do this time with the new car and new opportunity. I think last year we surprised a few people, but we have to prove we belong at the top this time."

Vettel and Australian team-mate Mark Webber represent one of the few unchanged line-ups this season and both believe that they have the potential and experience to run at the front again.

Vettel, 22, has nicknamed his new Red Bull RB6 car 'Luscious Liz', a successor to last season's two cars, Kate and 'Kate's Dirty Sister' - the first was badly damaged in the opening race and then replaced by the faster and more aggressive second car that carried him to four wins.

"We all like the new name," he explained with a grin. "I hope she doesn't need to have a sister - I will tell you about that after a couple of races."

Vettel and Webber believe they have the potential to take the initiative this season after winning the final three races of last year.

"Anything can happen and we are not scared of anybody," said Vettel.

"It is my target to be the world champion. I learned a lot last year and I am ready now, but let's see what happens first and if 'Liz' is fast enough to do the job."
