Verdala Castle will be transformed into a children’s wonderland for two days next month in an activity to raise funds for the Community Chest Fund.

Mela Darba Fil-Kastell, as the activity has been called, was launched by President and Mrs Abela today.

Claire Agius Ordawy, one of the organisers, said the historic castle will feature many children’s characters including Cinderella, Goililocks, Harry Potter, Rapunzel and Robin Hood and decorated appropriately.

Each character will take part in various children’s activities including games and story telling.

There will also be various other activities including archery and obstacle races on the palace grounds.

Alice in Wonderland will host a tea party.

The activity will be held on May 11 and 12, coinciding with Mother’s Day.

The police band will lead a concern on May 11 with singers performing songs popular among children, such as those sung by Hannah Montana and One Direction.

Further details on telephone number 21226226. Tickets cost €4 for adults and €3 for children.
